The Food Pervert Goes Low-Carb

The Food Pervert Goes Low-Carb

As a food blogger living in Los Angeles, I am constantly being invited to new restaurants and to try new food products - definitely something I am NOT complaining about! However, recently I did start to notice that I was having a harder time digesting certain foods, even though I wanted to eat them and loved how they tasted. Even though I knew it might limit me a bit, this last December I decided to cut out dairy completely from my diet, to see if I would feel better and sure, enough, I did! Then this January, I decided to also commit to being gluten-free, sugar-free, and low-carb. I felt really good about making this decision and now, so does my body!

Making these diet changes took some adjusting and getting used to. I have been researching foods that can satisfy certain cravings, without breaking my new diet rules. Chips have always been a favorite snack food of mine - potato and tortilla - any flavor, I loved them! While, vegetable “chips” like sliced carrots and cucumbers are good, they don’t 100 percent replace an actual crisp potato chip! This is where Quevos stepped in and swept me off my feet with their egg white chips!

That’s why she founded Type 1 Tribe and began interviewing fellow Diabetics, including Quevos cofounder Zack Schreier.
